Bio
Aidan Matthews (b.1999) is a photographer and writer from Montreal, Canada. He works instinctually to make images in reaction to light, colours, and gestures. In both his commercial and his personal work, he takes a graphic approach to his compositions, isolating forms, textures, and colours. His subjects are monumentalized by his camera, pushing his work beyond pure documentation into a realm of visual expression that transforms his subjects to relics of time, emotion, and movement.
Aidan’s visual sensibilities have attracted clients like Wedge Studio, Haven, Holt Renfrew, Nouvelle Idée, Studio Kiff, Hermès Canada, Le Violon, Toby Gauley, Madame Brown, and Zoï Agency. His editorial work has been featured online in Dwell Magazine, Sharp Magazine, and on Palindrome Gallery, as well as in print by SUKO Magazine.
