Bio
Aidan Matthews (b.1999) is a photographer and writer from Montreal, Canada. He works instinctually to make images in reaction to light, colours, and gestures.
In his commerial and his personal work alike, he isolates forms and textures, creating graphic compositions that feel simultaneously candid and calculated. In doing so, his work moves beyond pure documentation into a realm of visual expression, where people, spaces, and objects are transformed into relics of movement, emotion, and time.
Aidan’s visual sensibilities have attracted clients and collaborators like Wedge Studio, Menu Extra, Haven, Holt Renfrew, Studio Kiff, Hermès Canada, Le Violon, Toby Gauley, Madame Brown, and Zoï Agency. His editorial work has been featured online in Dwell Magazine, Sharp Magazine, and on Palindrome Gallery, as well as in print by SUKO Magazine.
